This page explains the principles that guide our reporting. They apply to every article published on Serbia News.
Accuracy
We publish information that comes from identifiable and reliable sources. We do not add facts that are not in our sources, especially dates, amounts, names and figures. When information cannot be confirmed, we do not publish it, or we clearly say that it has not been confirmed.
Facts and claims
We separate what has been decided, measured or confirmed from what someone claims, promises or expects. Statements, assessments and forecasts are always attributed to the person or institution that made them. Announcements by companies and governments are reported as announcements, not as completed facts.
Fairness and balance
On contested political, economic and social topics we present the relevant positions and attribute them. We do not take sides in party politics. Our own language stays neutral: no loaded adjectives, no sensational headlines and no speculation about motives.
Context for international readers
Many of our readers are not familiar with Serbian institutions. We briefly explain who is who and why a story matters, without changing the meaning of the source and without adding opinions.
Translation
A large part of our sources publish in Serbian. When we report them in English we keep the meaning, the numbers and the attribution intact. Official names of institutions are given in English, with the Serbian name where it helps the reader.
Use of artificial intelligence
We use artificial intelligence tools to help prepare articles from our sources, including translation and summarising. The rules above apply to every article regardless of how it was prepared, and editorial responsibility remains with the newsroom. More on the page Sources and transparency.
Corrections
When we make a mistake we correct it openly. The procedure is described in our Corrections policy.
Advertising and independence
Advertisers and partners have no influence on our editorial decisions. Paid content is always clearly labelled as sponsored. Details are on the page Advertising.
