The 58th Belgrade Music Festival, known as BEMUS, will end on October 30 with a concert by the Belgrade Philharmonic at Kolarac Endowment in central Belgrade, the organizers said.
On that evening, Czech-American pianist Lukáš Vondráček will perform Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the orchestra, under the baton of conductor Uroš Lajovic.
The festival will also mark other anniversaries in the final days of its program. On October 29, the academic choir Collegium musicum will celebrate 55 years of continuous work at Kolarac, joined by the Metamorfozis ensemble, with soprano Milena Damnjanović and baritone Vladimir Andrić as soloists.
That concert will include the world premiere of a work by Marko Nikodijević, commissioned by BEMUS with support from the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, as well as compositions by Draško Adžić and Jug Marković. A documentary about Collegium musicum, directed by Branislava Stefanović, will also be shown.
Earlier in the festival, Russian pianist Arkadij Volodos performed at Kolarac, playing works by Franz Schubert and Frédéric Chopin.
