Join us for the second Belgrade meetup focused on managing technical debt with AI.

  • Event on November 4 at AI Hub, Belgrade.
  • Discussion led by engineers from Easygo on AI migration strategies.
  • Open to software engineers and technical leaders.

Startit will host a second meetup on how engineers can repay technical debt on a live system with the help of AI, this time on Wednesday, 4 November, at 18:00 at the AI Hub in Belgrade, Savska 5. The event is part of the broader 100+ free AI events in 2026 series.

The first session drew strong interest and many questions, so this edition is being set aside mainly for discussion with the audience. The topic is relevant for development teams that work with older codebases, large migrations and production systems that cannot afford downtime.

At the first meetup, engineers from Easygo, the owner of Kick, a platform with more than 130 million users, explained how they used AI to migrate important parts of the system while it remained online. Startit said the new event will revisit that experience and focus more heavily on audience questions.

Who the meetup is for

The organizers say the event is intended for software engineers dealing with technical debt, people who attended the first session and still have questions, and technical leaders planning major migrations who need to explain the business case to management. It is also aimed at teams already using AI in production systems.

Attendance does not require participation in the first part. The only prerequisite is experience in software development.

Speakers and agenda

The same three Easygo engineers will take part again. Their teams worked on key parts of Kick, including payments, user systems and notifications, while the platform continued to operate.

Miroslav Lazović, a principal engineer, spoke at the first event about payments migration and project planning. Igor Stojadinović, a staff engineer, works on the user system, which his team moved into a new service that ran alongside the old one during the transition. Miloš Zlatković, a software engineer, helped build a new notifications system and moved existing data into it, while also documenting the work so colleagues could continue while he was away.

The evening will begin with short introductions, followed by a longer Q&A session. The main themes will include how to plan a roadmap for a large project and how AI fits into the migration of a system that cannot go offline.

Participation is free, but registration is required through the online form provided by the organizers. The session will be held in English.

For readers following Serbia’s tech scene, the event adds to the growing list of industry meetups and practical AI discussions in Belgrade. More updates on similar events can be found in our latest news section.
