The City of Belgrade and Air Serbia will host Wings of Change Europe 2027 on October 26 and 27, 2027, bringing one of the European aviation industry's main annual conferences to Serbia’s capital, Air Serbia said.
The announcement was made at the closing of Wings of Change Europe 2026 in Brussels, where Air Serbia CEO Jirí Marek presented Belgrade and the airline as the next hosts. The event is organised by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the global airline industry body.
According to Air Serbia, the conference gathers airline executives, airport operators, regulators, manufacturers, service providers and other aviation stakeholders to discuss the sector’s main challenges and development prospects.
Marek said the choice of Belgrade was a recognition of Air Serbia and the city, adding that the conference would give Serbia a chance to present itself as a regional hub and a market with room for further growth in air transport.
IATA Regional Vice President Europe Rafael Schvartzman said the association was bringing its Wings of Change Europe event to Southeastern Europe for the first time. He said connectivity in the region needs to improve further to strengthen competitiveness.
Air Serbia added that the 2027 conference will take place in the year when the airline marks 100 years of tradition. The carrier said the event, together with EXPO 2027 and GITEX AI Belgrade, would help reinforce Belgrade’s position as a meeting point for business, technology and aviation.
The airline said it will work with IATA and other partners on preparations for the conference and on hosting participants from around the world. For Serbia, the event adds another international gathering to the calendar in a year already set to feature major promotional and business events.
